FUSE Delco may be a new concept to some but has been focusing on breaking down color barriers for about 5 years now. Through this initiative FUSE has held many events that spark conversations and build real relationships with people from both urban and suburban communities.
Last night they held another conversation and this one was very interesting. People who would have never usually cross paths are sitting at a table together breaking bread (eating food lol). Some of the topics discussed as I walked around to different tables was the way media portrays Chester and ubran communities, white privilege, and other uncomfortable racial topics.
Personally I am happy to have joined FUSE. It has given me a different perspective on people of other races. Are you someone interested in having a open dialogue about race? Join us at our next event which is actually a trip: February 22 at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. (official flyer coming soon!) Have any questions in the meantime please feel free to contact me. I hope to see everyone there. ☺️
